SLIPKNOT's JORDISON: It Was An Honor To Play For METALLICA

SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison has commented on filling in for METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich for their headlining performance at the Download festival in England Sunday (June 6).

"It was an honor last night to play for a band I've looked up to for so long," Jordison said in a statement. "[Before this,] I could not imagine getting into the seat of one of my heroes. It was one of the best experiences of my life."

As previously reported, METALLICA will release an EP entitled "Some Kind of Monster" on July 9, which is also the name of the recent documentary film about the band. The eight-song disc will consist of two versions of the title track, along with live renditions of "The Four Horsemen", "Damage, Inc.", "Leper Messiah", "Motorbreath", "Ride the Lightning" and "Hit the Lights", recorded in Paris on June 11, 2003. Limited editions of the EP will bundled with a compressed T-shirt in large and extra-large sizes, emblazoned with the film's poster art.

METALLICA will shift from Elektra to Warner Bros. Records for their next studio album, which Ulrich told Billboard won't begin taking shape until next year.
